Jesus Christ is the true Head of Redeemer Bible Church, just as He is of every other true church. The human leaders of this church serve under Christ’s authority, particularly as it is expressed in his Word.
Our church has appointed elders (pastors) who provide spiritual leadership at Redeemer. These are men who are examples for other Christians to follow, capable of teaching God’s Word, and can be trusted to wisely & humbly lead the church based on their observed character. Though we see elder leadership as the Biblical model for church government, we recognize full congregational participation as part of that Biblical model. Our elders take the congregation into consideration when making decisions and seek affirmation of those decisions by the congregation on important matters.
Our church has also appointed deacons, men of mature Christian character and good reputation whose role is to serve in various ways. The deacons provide leadership regarding the area of service, seeking to help the entire body be aware of ministry opportunities through the church.
Todd Davis – pastor for teaching
In 2009, God led Todd to begin Redeemer Bible Church as a church plant from Heritage Bible Church in Greer, South Carolina after he finished his Ph.D. work in seminary. God drew Todd to Christ in salvation as a child, having allowed him to hear the gospel from his earliest days in a Christian family with a father who is a pastor. Todd and his wife, Carissa, have been married since 2004, and God has blessed them with five children. The whole family loves being part of Redeemer and growing in their love for and knowledge of our Savior Jesus Christ. Todd's primary role at Redeemer is the public teaching and preaching of God's Word each week when the church gathers on Sunday mornings. He cherishes the privilege of teaching God's Word publicly through expositional preaching, and is also passionate about teaching privately in personal discipling relationships.
Matt LaCava – pastor for worship & outreach
Through being born into and brought up in a Christian family, Matt was drawn to Christ as a child. Matt sensed God leading him to vocational church ministry at a young age, and was eventually led specifically to church planting in Colorado while he and his wife, Kate, prayerfully considered where God would have them go after finishing graduate school. In May 2010, the LaCavas moved to Brighton to join the Redeemer Bible Church planting efforts. Matt and Kate have had 4 children since moving to Brighton, and count it a privilege to have been able to grow as a family at Redeemer. Matt was ordained to pastoral ministry in 2011, and loves to pursue his passion of teaching others about the glory of Christ, particularly through leading worship each week and coordinating efforts to reach out to our community with the good news of who God is and what He has done.
Ryan Fisher – pastor for administration
Ryan grew up in a loving, Christian home where he heard the good news of Jesus Christ as a child and came to know him as Savior at a young age. During his high school and college years, God impressed on Ryan's heart to one day assist a small church or church plant. After he and his high-school sweetheart, Danielle, were married in 2006, God continued to direct them to be a part of the church plant that Todd and Carissa Davis were planning to start. In accordance with God's leading, they moved to Colorado in the spring of 2009. Ryan works full-time in a public relations role in downtown Denver. Ryan and Danielle are thankful for their daughters, Lorelei and Lucy. Erik's parents became Christians when he was a child, but he did not trust in the gospel work of Jesus Christ and repent of his sin until the Holy Spirit worked in his heart when he was a teenager. God used a gospel preaching church in the Denver metro area to proclaim the truths of the gospel to him, and he was converted at that church when he was 17. Erik met his wife, Suzanne, at that church and they were married in 2007. They now have 5 children. The Frelunds have loved being a part of Redeemer since God led them here in 2010, and they have served in a variety of ways since then. By God’s grace, Paul grew up in a Christian home and was saved at an early age. His father served at a small, local church and God used this time in Paul's life to show him the importance of serving in the local church. While in high school, God placed in Paul's heart a love for and a desire to teach. Paul graduated from college with a degree in elementary education in 2007. Soon after graduation Paul married his wife Tara, who is also an elementary school teacher. Both Paul and Tara taught in the public school system in South Carolina until 2010 when they felt led by the Lord to move to Colorado to help with the ministry at Redeemer. In July of 2010 they made the move, and now both Paul and Tara serve the body at RBC in many ways. God has allowed them to use their gifts, both in education in general and teaching children specifically, to help provide leadership in the children’s ministry. With their two girls, Ellorie and Claire, they look forward to God's continued provision as He grows them in the RBC family.
