Jesus Christ is the true Head of Redeemer Bible Church, just as He is of every other true church. The human leaders of this church serve under Christ’s authority, particularly as it is expressed in his Word.
Our church has appointed elders (pastors) who provide spiritual leadership at Redeemer. These are men who are examples for other Christians to follow, capable of teaching God’s Word, and can be trusted to wisely & humbly lead the church based on their observed character. Though we see elder leadership as the Biblical model for church government, we recognize full congregational participation as part of that Biblical model. Our elders take the congregation into consideration when making decisions and seek affirmation of those decisions by the congregation on important matters.
Our church has also appointed deacons, men of mature Christian character and good reputation whose role is to serve in various ways. The deacons provide leadership regarding the area of service, seeking to help the entire body be aware of ministry opportunities through the church.
God drew Cole to trust in Him for salvation as child: one night, God would not allow him to sleep one night until he made sure he was trusting Jesus. As a young adult, deciding “what to do with his life,” Cole realized his passion for studying and teaching others about God’s Word. This led him to pursue and obtain a bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Studies to become better equipped to help others enjoy the Lord. After graduating in 2010, Cole and his wife Rachael moved to Colorado to assist in church planting ministries. They came to Redeemer in 2012 and Cole received additional training from the elders. Cole was ordained as an elder in August of 2017 and serves primarily by leading the GC² youth ministry.
Through being born into and brought up in a Christian family, Matt was drawn to Jesus as a young child. He sensed God leading him to vocational pastoral ministry at a young age, and was eventually led specifically to church planting in Colorado while he and his wife, Kate, prayerfully considered where God would have them go after finishing graduate school. In May 2010, the LaCavas moved to Brighton to join the team planting Redeemer Bible Church. Matt and Kate have had 4 children since moving to Brighton, and count it a great privilege and joy to have grown here as a family. Matt was ordained to pastoral ministry by the elders at Redeemer in 2011, and was appointed as the lead pastor of Redeemer in 2017.
Dan grew up in a Christian family and trusted in Christ as a young child. Following schooling he served 7 years in the Air Force. He and his wife Colleen were married in 2002 and early in their marriage God began directing and preparing Dan for pastoral ministry. Dan and Colleen are blessed with 5 children and together love the supportive family of believers gathered at Redeemer Bible Church. Dan was ordained as an elder in 2015 and greatly desires to see the next generation believing in Christ for salvation. He values his role of prayerfully teaching and discipling and specifically leading the children's and family ministries.
Erik's parents became Christians when he was a child, but he did not trust in the gospel work of Jesus Christ and repent of his sin until the Holy Spirit worked in his heart when he was a teenager. God used a gospel preaching church in the Denver metro area to proclaim the truths of the gospel to him, and he was converted at that church when he was 17. Erik met his wife, Suzanne, at that church and they were married in 2007. They now have 6 children. The Frelunds have loved being a part of Redeemer since God led them here in 2010, and they have served in a variety of ways since then. Erik serves each week as music director and leads the body in corporate worship.

Daryle grew up in Scottsbluff, NE, where his mother took him and his siblings regularly to their Lutheran church, emphasizing the importance of worshiping God, and in instruction in His Word. However, he didn’t come into a relationship with Christ until age 22 in North Platte, NE. It was also where he and Rhonda, already a believer, met and were married in 1978. They journeyed through various locations and Bible-teaching churches in SD where Daryle earned his masters in soil science and began a career that extended for the next 20 years with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (formerly SCS). They moved to WY in 1990 where they finished raising their 3 children. In 2004, he and Rhonda moved to UT for the next eight years, then transferred to CO when his company expanded. He and Rhonda began attending Redeemer in 2012. Daryle serves regularly in Redeemer's hospitality ministry, cares for the church grounds, and serves on the missions ministry team.
